Prof. Brian Huizinga, professor of Dogmatics and Old Testament Studies at the Protestant Reformed Theological seminary, will present a special Reformation lecture on the topic: "Crowning His Gifts: God Rewarding the Good Works of Believers" at Peace PRC (Dyer, IN) at 7:00 PM (CT) Friday evening, October 31.
For many Christians, the word "reward" is cause for fear and suspicion. It suggests doctrines of merit and a salvation based on works, as well as other ideas at odds with the teachings of the Christian faith. But that need not be so. God Himself promises in His Word to reward His people--not out of their merit or worthiness, but of His pure grace and on account of the worthy work of Jesus Christ.
You are cordially invited to come and hear a historical, theological, and practical exposition of the biblical and Reformed teaching on the important topic of the rewards of grace.
Prof. Huizinga is the author of a book by this title also--Crowning His Gifts: Gracious Rewards in the Reformed Tradition. Visit this page on the Reformed free Publishing Association's website to learn more and to add it to your Reformation reading list.
